Hello, my name is Ivana Nacevska and I am from Macedonia . This is my last year as a high school student at gymnasium “Orce Nikolov” in Skopje . I spend most of my time reading books, doing handmade stuff, painting and learning German. Also, I enjoy volunteering, travelling, meeting new people and cultures.
2. What chapter are you currently member in ? How do you like the atmosphere in your chapter?
I have been a member in PTPI Skopje creACTive Student Chapter for two years and currently I held the position of Vice President of the Chapter. The atmosphere in our chapter is very good, I really enjoy working with all those people with new, creative and fresh ideas for events, workshops and many different projects. The good cooperation and hard work in the chapter , brought us the Gold Reward regarding the Team Peace Challenge, for what we are very proud of.
3.Can you tell us something more about the current projects you have in your chapter?
Currently we are working on few projects, which are going to be held this month. The first one is the ZOO visit with the kids from the SOS Children’s Village, including a workshop in the educational centre. Another event planed for the middle of April is documentary about the impact of “Facebook” and debate at the American Educational Centre. And on the 27th April in the EU Info Centre, our biggest project of the year will be held, which is also our Global Youth Service Day project, “Career Day”. We are planning to invite different university teachers, famous people and people from different job profiles, who will share their working experience with our guests. The target group are the high school students who are graduating this year and want to find out more about different professions and faculties.
4.What changes has PTPI brought in your life?
Being part of PTPI had brought a lot of positive changes in my life. I have learned many different things and gained new communicational, leadership and fundraising skills, through all the workshops we had. Also, I met a lot of new people, who became part of my life and somehow they helped me spread my horizons and become more open minded. This is why I love being part of the Chapter.
5.Have you been given the opportunity to travel via PTPI programs? How would you describe this experience ?
I had an opportunity to participate in one Youth exchange “Intercultural paintings 2012”, which was held from 12th till 23th August in Solothurn small union of artist in Switzerland. The main idea was to paint on canvases in order to create written paintings, by using various techniques. This was unforgettable experience, which meant a lot to me. Because, first of all, this was my first exchange, and spending 12 day with all those different people working in the same studio and living in the same house has been amazing and life changing.
6.What would you recommend to the youth that are still thinking whether to be part of a local PTPI Chapter or not?
If you are creative, talented, open minded and at the same time you want to have fun and do something useful for yourself and the community, the PTPI Chapter is the best place to realize your awesome ideas. Don’t hesitate, just come and join us. Be part of it, meet new people and cultures, travel around and learn new things.
